Oh man, guys. The day has come! Well, actually that day was yesterday but I'm still thrilled! My monitor is here and she's beautiful. The colors! The blacks! The big bump in resolution! The viewing angles! This is pure bliss. I swear, I spent hours after she was set up just looking and occasionally exclaiming to myself about the gorgeousness. This is going to change my computer viewing life so much! :D

(Okay the crappiness of my digital camera negates the value of this photo but STIll.)
Okay, the new problems that owning something so nice creates:
1) I don't have any good calibration software. I've tried my best with the monitor controls and the basic tools but I feel like I know just enough to know it's not right but not enough to fix it.
2) A lot of my own Photoshop stuff looks so dark and contrasty now. Not that surprising, considering I've probably been trying to compensate for my old monitor's limitations in displaying vivid color for years now. But still sad. I think I need to go learn more about color spaces.
3) I don't have any widescreen wallpaper! Damn, my former collection looks so tiny on this screen. Anyone know where to find some nice 1680 x 1050 wallpapers? ;)
4) Speaking of, there need to be some upgrade of video quality! Now I have a reason to mad about the Blueray/Apple thing! I used to avoid HD files because they freak out my laptop but they're the only thing that looks good at this resolution. Thank god for Quicktime's 'Present Movie'.
But have I mentioned I LOVE IT? I want to own another! I think I'm going to need to invest in a nicer computer chair now. Jump back, I know! XD
