Yes! I did it! I was able to complete old icons that were selected by other people in a poll! Ahaha, it's the small things in life. ♥ I actually had a lot of fun making these, there were a few kernels of good ideas that set me off on a flurry of iconning. Nobuta lends itself well to ~snark-with-love~ which is my very favorite kind of icons to make when I feel inspired. Really, I think I say in icon posts everything I would say in a long, winding post made up of words: I am an fan of the OT3 in general, I fell inexplicably and totally in love with Akira, I (lovingly) mock Shuji and his "coolness" in my head, there's a little extra squish in my squishy feelings for Nobuta/Akira, and I'm still amazed by how canon-slashy this show turned out to be. So yes, icons!

You know, I work on many icons in my spare time that aren't Arashi-related. Really, I do. And yet I always seem to make the final push and finish the Arashi ones. So for today: the PIKA☆NCHI: LIFE IS HARD dakedo HAPPY photobook! This time I was inspired by both the scans by katmillia on my flist and the recently subbed SCP with Ken-chan-san (who shot the PIKA☆NCHI photobook) by o_e_subs. Thank you, awesome fandom people! These aren't even my favorite scans ever (except I adore those shirts! &hearts) but I love how they're so stylistically consistent.

Oh! And thank you to brokendartist, princess_dexter and mojotastic for the delicious looking lj gifts! That's so nice! I was grinning so hard when I received all of them. ♥

Okay well, I'm actually not so much closeted as I've just had nothing substantial to post! But the last month or so I've been plunged into the world of sparkles and rainbows that is Arashi.

Now, I tried to resist this love at first. Because companies forming a boyband and marketing them to the masses = uber creepy, right? I mean, I'm not new to loving a "boyband" as I'm am a card-carrying twelve year Hanson fan, but I always had the justification of them forming by themselves and y'know, being actually a band with instruments.

AND YET there is nothing about Arashi I don't love now! There was no way I could fight this whirlpool of affection! You see in Japan, celebrity figures are not just lobbed softball interviews and chased by hellish paparazzi. In Japan, you are given your own TV show where you fail miserably in ridiculous and fun games, get peer-pressured into eating a sparrow (Dead! Cooked! It's okay!), and have your worst sartorial missteps (SWEATPANTS PRINTED TO LOOK LIKE JEANS) trotted out in front of a national audience. Basically, this is just a group of five COMPLETE DORKS who have known each other for over ten years and are pretty much family. Annndd I'm completely charmed.

SO FLIST, expect a few posts on Arashi in the future! Though I'm not exactly a prodigious poster so you will not be inundated or anything. And now, naturally ICONS.

As is my tradition, Star Trek has consumed my brain and that means icons. I'm kind of obsessed with sticking Arial text over everything at the moment, so there's a million alternates here and it's not nearly as many as it seems. ...See, I'm totally adding this disclaimer in case I post another huge batch next week. :D

Okay, I have a new show and it is awesome. phrenk (these icons are dedicated to her, btw, because SHE IS TO BLAME FOR THIS ONE. :DD) has been picspamming several shows that looked appealing to me. But during our recent heat wave, I couldn't imagine anything more satisfying than a cold beer and a hockey-themed romance. As usual, Japan came through for me! IT GETS EVEN BETTER: the whole thing is set to the Greatest Hits of Queen. So, obviously, Pride and I are getting along fine and I bring you ICONS.
