51 Pride Icons

Okay, I have a new show and it is awesome. phrenk (these icons are dedicated to her, btw, because SHE IS TO BLAME FOR THIS ONE. :DD) has been picspamming several shows that looked appealing to me. But during our recent heat wave, I couldn't imagine anything more satisfying than a cold beer and a hockey-themed romance. As usual, Japan came through for me! IT GETS EVEN BETTER: the whole thing is set to the Greatest Hits of Queen. So, obviously, Pride and I are getting along fine and I bring you ICONS.

....You have to stop making me want to watch shows!! I already have Coffee Prince on my list and I've heard about Pride for a long time but never really considered it must-watch. But now! These icons are adorable and make me want to watch the show. Plus! Queen! We all know that I love Japanese shows that have a love affair with old music!

Ha, I say the same thing to phrenk! She watches dramas faster than I do and I'm always swayed by her enthusiastic picspamming. IT'S A DRAMA PANDEMIC. I finally got down to only sloooowly watching Love Shuffle and Coffee Prince, plus rewatching Nodame, so I decided I could add another show. <3

Pride is adorable! I'm a big fan of team camardarie and the romance is surprisingly grown-up. There's a lot of banter and eye-sex and conversations. Like, the main couple just talks about their issues and what's going on with them. That doesn't always happen in dramas! Here's phrenk's recap of the first ep, if you ever need some more convincing. ;)

Queen! We all know that I love Japanese shows that have a love affair with old music!
Oh man, this show loves old music almost as much as Love Shuffle! I mean, the characters don't burst into
song but they do play about four Queen songs per ep. And "I Was Born to Love You" is incorporated into the score. <3 <3 <3 JAPAN, THERE'S A REASON YOU'RE MY FAVORITE.

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! I should really use a Pride icon (shit, I already have four and I HAVE to take one of these) but it's necessary to use this one, because this is the icon with which I fling my hands toward the ceiling with glee! (Which is why I use it all the time. I am very gleeful on the internet!)

PRIDE ICONS. PRIDE ICONS DEDICATED TO ME! !!!

Aaagghh, but now I have to choose... they're all so beautiful. BAH. I have four and I want to cut that down to two (I am really frugal with icons, I don't even have all that I could have but I like to have space JUST IN CASE. I am crazypants.) So I'm probably going to end up keeping this one and this one:



(I'd cut for spoilers but I know this is the image used in the post at jdramas.) I know they're really dark but I get attached quickly. It's an issue with my life, people make all these beautiful icons and I'm all lalalala dark and squirrelly icons!

So I have a Halu (with obvious looking-at-Aki-ness) and a Halu+Aki. Which means I obviously need an AKI icon! YAY! Logic saves the day once again. I think I will grab number (insert time staring at Aki icons and being wishy-washy) 21! God, she's gorgeous. And the CINEMATOGRAPHY. NNGGHH.

YAAAAY, YOU'RE SO WELCOME! I'M GLAD YOU LIKE! Don't worry, I totally get attached to icons too and it causes strife to change them. I still have icons up from at least four or five years ago for sentimental reasons. XD

Yeah, it's hard to miss that one! I actually don't mind visual spoilers as much when I don't know when they occur. Now I just have been clued in that sexytimes are indeed on their way! :D

THE LIGHTING. SUCH GOOD LIGHTING. I'm seriously probably going to have to make a few more icons just because I love coloring those hockey helmets! It's like the flight suit helmets from BSG except a million people haven't already iconned the hell out of them! <3

Yay, I'm glad you hear you liked them! I just knew I needed Pride icons for myself. I'm sure they'll be at least another batch from me, considering how much I'm enjoying this show. And also how much I love how the hockey helmets are lit! :D

Ah, I don't think I have *any* Pride icons! I'll come back and save a bunch of them.
I had a male friend introduce me to Pride saying "It's a hockey show." Ha, it's a romance that features hockey (and if it were possible, I would choose that for my life's plot). I loved all the Queen music. I wasn't that familiar with Queen until I started watching it and now I love my best of Queen cd!

Ha, I just love that you have a male friend that watched Pride! It's definitely more on the romance end of the spectrum than the sports drama end. ;)

Queen is like the music of my childhood, my dad was a fan. Though they actually use a bit too much of the cheesy later stuff rather than early Queen, I just adore the soundtrack! There can never be too much Queen!
