UM YES. I feel like this movie vindicated GENERATIONS of women who've watched Trek.
So much YES. Middle-schooler me was obsessed with him, and cried when he died. Also, Gene Roddenberry had some backstory writings where Spock and Uhura were a thing and it was going to be vaguely hinted at in the series until SHATNER'S GIANT EGO got in the way and demanded that he get the first interracial kiss, ha.
Yes, so good! I knew with Simon Pegg, there was no way to fail. And Scotty and Chehov are actually British (which is almost Scottish) and Russian (-ish) now! It's amaaaazing.
Also, John Cho is Korean, which is SORT OF IN THE VICINITY OF JAPAN. Hahaha. I wonder if they ever get up to TNG characters...will Picard actually be French? I feel like nobody should ever break the Frechman-with-a-strangely-British-accent rule.
Ooh, which episode is your favorite? "Amok Time"?
Def, because I was super happy when Spock was all smiley at the end. Closely followed by "City on the Edge of Forever", "Mirror, Mirror", and "Journey to Babel".
