THE COSTUMING/HAIR DESIGN IS LOVELY. I am so pleased! Plus I can't stop grinning anyway, because these people I love are on my screen, singing and dancing and being generally fantastic. (I AM TOTALLY GOING TO VOTE FOR MAOU AS ONE OF MY THREE. IT IS TIME. And I may watch it either way.)

I am excited that we may do movies as dorama_watch, too! I'm dling one right now with Shota that's supposed to be awesome, Ikigami. I'm pretty excited!

Good! That was my reaction as well, but I didn't know if other people would feel the same way! And this was even before I started having feelings for Arashi and just knew Matsujun/Toma.

I MUST WATCH MAOU. I THINK OHNO IS FANTASTIC AND NEED TO SEE HIM ACT. TOOOOMA. I really want to see Maou but it's a little hard to imagine watching something serious with the comm. Just because my commentary is generally capslocky. I'M SURE I COULD TAX MY BRAIN AND BE THOUGHTFUL OR JUST TALK ABOUT TOMA RUNNING.

Yeah, idk about Maou and dorama_watch but either way: MAOU. Everything I hear about it is amazing, and then I watched the Truth pv, which is the theme song and Ohno is all Maou-ed up, kinda, and ... well, it is pretty fucking amazing. I fail at talking thoughtfully about dramas, though, so watching it with a group could be difficult. And in fact, sometimes I get a little protective of serious shows that I love, if people don't give them the PROPER RESPECT. (In other news, I am ridiculous.)

I WILL KEEP YOU UPDATED ON SHOTA'S HAIR. I think it's more slicked-back in this, but he looks super hot, and it's supposed to be a cool movie, kinda sci-fi and lots of badass.

HAHAHA, my thoughts were EQUALLY SHALLOW AND DIRTY. The sad thing is that this was the first time I was really exposed to Ohno so my thoughts were along the lines of "WHO IS THIS BOY AND DOES HE NOT KNOW THIS KIND OF SEXY IS STRICTLY MONITORED IN JAPAN? ALSO, YESSSS." rather than "WHO IS THIS BOY, USING HIS SWIRLY HIPS WITH GIRLS? ALSO, YESSSS."

They are feelings in their infancy! When I first watch Arashi Side Story, I really knew nothing of Arashi beyond hearing their music in Hanadan! But now I have SEEN, with the KITTO DAIJOUBO and the HAPPINESS PV (and the reading the hilarious commentary on said video) and ALSO I NOW KNOW just how dorky they are. But I'm still not in the loop yet (like, what does PV stand for? Shouldn't it be MV?) so this is really only the beginning of my feelings.

And in fact, sometimes I get a little protective of serious shows that I love, if people don't give them the PROPER RESPECT.
I always get concerned about people harshing my buzz. If I start to fall for a show, I can overlook its flaws and do not particularly want them pointed out to me! ...I'm so glad dorama_watch is going to chose to popular vote for I don't have to weigh the pros and cons of things.

I have to say, that when I first was exposed to Arashi (in pictures, not video) Ohno would not have been someone I thought was sexy. More of a "not my type but pretty" sort of guy. And then I watched a video and was like "... ??? !!!!!!!" and I have not looked back, and in fact find him to be one of the sexiest members. (... tmi?:) I would totally sleep with him, even though I am probably 3-5 inches taller than him, and it is one of my shallow points that I'm usually only attracted to guys who are taller than I am. (I'm thinking that may have to be in the past tense pretty soon.) Whenever I try to describe him, I always just end up saying "It's OHNO." (Although I do the same thing for Aiba. "It's AIBA." Matsujun and Nino are far more complicated, and Sho is much more likely to get an "Oh, SHO." In the "he's a dork" way, and ALSO in the "he's a hotass" way.) I think Ohno could take over the world, if he wasn't oblivious and OHNO and obsessed with fishing and food and being a dork.

FEELINGS. I am still shocked that you have them, I remember seeing your "creeped out by Johnny's" comment and finding it funny (EVERYONE IS CREEPED OUT BY JOHNNY'S, IT'S THE RULES.) I've been having all these thoughts about making all sorts of posts re: Arashi and your nascent feelings have given me the extra impetus needed to put some plans into motion! (No pressure, though, it's not love if it's not love! This is not one of those things where my buzz can be harshed, I'm fully coked up on Arashi and won't be revived anytime soon.)

Yeah, I was confused by PV vs. MV at first, and they are the same thing, but most people seem to call them PVs, at least when they're from Japan or Korea (etc. There is really no good way to say that, because ASIA is GIGANTIC, and what I really mean is Japan, Korea, Taiwan, a little bit of China, perhaps, blah blah blah.) PV = promotional video!

Agreed on the buzz harshing as regards dramas! And other shows, too. I'm pretty good at sequestering myself when I know I'm likely to get unhappy. I keep my Bones love to myself, for the most part, because a lot of people who love it just don't love it in the same WAY that I do. And I've completely stopped reading Supernatural reaction posts. Then again, I know that I sometimes harsh other people's buzzes accidentally, like when I made Mei-chan picspams and didn't realize that people took the show so much more seriously than I did, or when I commented on an lj friend's Big Bang post about how I disliked one of the members before realizing that HEY, I'M AN ASSHOLE, SHIT. (SIGH. Why do I do these stupid things??) Probably I won't vote for Maou, actually, or not in the final polls. I will have to consider carefully! I'm far too impulsive to do so, but I'm going to make an effort. (What are YOUR nominations, anyway??)

Ohno is very convincing in movement! Like, I felt I should've been oogling Matsujun and Toma since they were the ones I knew... but Ohno. He totally had the presence to be a boyband gang leader and he dances very persuasively! I had no chance.

There just no escaping it with these Asian guys! They're so tiny but so pretty! You were doomed from the start. (Sidenote: I always find it a little strange to read that Asian men are considered least desirable by the white majority on internet dating sites, considering the amount of love being thrown at them in my internet circles.)

See, it's your descriptions of the individual members that make me interested in learning more. I'm curious about Ohno's obsession with fishing and dorkiness and what elusive quality Aiba possesses to warrant "It's AIBA." Though I'm a little afraid that I'll never feel the same way about Matsujun again! I kind of like associating him with the first character I saw his as. XD

I wish there was a name for just the portion of Asia that produces dramas! The term 'Asia' just encompasses too large a swath of the world, especially since I'm mostly talking about tiny islands and peninsulas. Or, yes, I agree. XD

I'm pretty good at sequestering myself when I know I'm likely to get unhappy.
I often feel like it's better for me to sequester myself to some degree, both to prevent my feelings from being stomped on and avoid doing the same to other people. It's why I usually don't belong to the main comm of any fandom and instead find a smaller character or pairing place to hang out. But sometimes my love for something is better expressed to NO ONE because I'm just taking enjoyment where I find it, whether that's dumping things I don't care for or snarking on it.

..Is it wrong that I immediately went "Ooh, snarky feelings!" and went over to folderdropping to read? XD I didn't think it was anything overly harsh but that's probably because I agreed. I really enjoyed Mei-chan but the love interests are like Sano and Nakatsu but lamer. But yes, I can see how you might have accidentally stepped on people's toes.

HAHAHA, I was wondering if anyone was going to notice that! I sometimes feel ill-qualified to recommend dramas I like to strangers! Which is pretty ironic given that the posts with the most comments on my lj are all "HERE'S THE REASONS WHY YOU SHOULD WATCH THIS SHOW" pimp posts. :) If I support something, I sometimes feel responsible when someone doesn't mesh well with it. I should probably go your route and just suggest things I want to watch but haven't seen so I don't have that problem. I am not impulsive, I overthink these things way too much!

Yeah, Ohno in motion has so much presence, it's true. And so much talent, he just takes something and makes it his and makes it AWESOME.

Okay, so. I've been trying to write the descriptions for each band member (it is unclear why I am doing this at all but I frequently feel the need for a love outlet and I guess this is my current one for Arashi). I put Matsujun first, because he's got like twelve billion layers, at least how I see him. And I just wrote the most terrible description of Matsujun. SO. You are free to skip that part, because right afterward I'm putting a couple comments by other people in Arashi, so those are more CANON and shouldn't disrupt YOUR mind-Matsujun! (It is also possible I will end up deleting the entire sorry thing, I mean my own attempted description of him. SIGH.) I will not be offended if you don't read my own comments on Matsujun. (Whom I adore, to be clear.) Aiba is going to be SO MUCH EASIER. That is why I put Aiba last! : )

Yes, it's the JE corporation that is super creepy. I get creeped out by the "Juniors", who are the undebuted members, and they're all like twelve and back-up dance in concerts and such and are being GROOMED to be idols AS WE SPEAK. AAAAAHHHHHHHH.

I'd be interested to know what your nominations are, even if you don't actually make them! I also want to make people watch shows I love, but for the most part I have so many shows that I haven't seen and want to, that I'm not really up for much rewatching. (In person pimping to a friend, though, I'm totally up for that. "Hey, you should come over! LOOK, COFFEE PRINCE, HOW ABOUT THAT.")

I have other things to say about things in your comment, but mostly you can extrapolate them from what you already know from my OTHER comments, and I am tired and a little punchy. (I always say that, but by god, it's usually true. I think this is why I have trouble answering comments a lot of the time, because I usually put it off until right before bed and then I'm sleepy and say stupid shit.) Oh, I did also really enjoy Mei-chan! I had some reservations, but I found it to be crack-y fun. I just wish I had known how other people felt about it before posting those things so I could have at least tried to be more tactful. It's always weird when I realize how DIFFERENT people's feelings can be about the same thing. We're not always watching the same show! Agreed, it's so much fun to force people to watch things in real life! I've done that a lot. I think I probably tend to want to rec things I've seen on dorama_watch just because then I know what I'm getting the comm into. ALSO, I want people to write fanfiction. That's, like, the dream. XD

Ain't it the truth! I already felt a little bad that all of us were like "RAR YUKKI/MEI WEDDING WHAT NO" when discussing LoveSha and someone came to say "I didn't mind that..." But what can you do!

Oh man, fic. I haven't read ANY drama fic. I'm weird about fic, as in, for nearly every fandom I'm in I don't read any at ALL, but then there are a couple where I read a LOT. I'd have to try some drama fic before knowing which one it was!

Oh Love Shuffle. Yeah, I felt bad about that too. Although I don't think we were TOO bad, I liked the wedding, mostly, just not what led up to it. I feel worse that I commented and then never went back to the post and now it's a week later and I'm like SIGH. Hopefully with the next drama I'll do better! (Depending on what it is. I'm anxious to find out!)

Yeah, you should try fic sometime! I'm not at all like that though, usually I base my status of belonging to a fandom on whether I've gone and read some fic yet. D I read fic of everything! I would read more drama fic if I could locate it/IF IT EXISTS. XD
