80 Star Trek (2009) icons

As is my tradition, Star Trek has consumed my brain and that means icons. I'm kind of obsessed with sticking Arial text over everything at the moment, so there's a million alternates here and it's not nearly as many as it seems. ...See, I'm totally adding this disclaimer in case I post another huge batch next week. :D

Date: 2009-05-15 01:21 am (UTC)Oh man, I have only seen the movie once and I desperately need to see it again. It's like visual crack and I'm going through withdrawal.

Date: 2009-05-15 03:49 am (UTC)I know exactly what you mean. I have a suspicious feeling that not even six or seven times will be enough for me, dammit. I know I'm seeing it again this weekend, it's all a matter of time and finding fangirls to go with...

Date: 2009-05-15 04:20 am (UTC)Ha, hopefully you can hold to until the weekend! I think I'm going to be attending a lot of "free movie Tuesdays" that I get through my cable package this month! Thank goodness for my wallet. ...Except I'm already planning to go into NYC to see it in IMAX. Clearly, a necessity!
UM ALSO, I'm already starting my countdown to the sequel and I don't think that's healthy. ;)

Date: 2009-05-15 05:16 am (UTC)Re: countdown to sequel -- YOU, TOO? OMG, the next installment CANNOT get here quick enough. Especially since I read somewhere the possibility of revisiting the Khan story line and maybe having Javier Bardem as the infamous superman. O____O

YES. The first words out of my mouth after seeing the film were "They better have already greenlit the sequel and be releasing it next summer or I may die!" Not realistic but the sentiment holds true!
Re: next storyline - Oh man! I haven't read anything like that! That said: YES on Javier Bardem but NO on revisiting Khan. I'm one of those in the very slim minority that doesn't like Wrath of Khan (I know!), BUT more importantly I don't want them to rehash stuff! I want the next movie to be all about exploration and new civilizations. That goes for villains as well. Though JJ Abrams has won a lot of goodwill from me after this film. :)
(Your icon is still one of the most PERFECT icons to ever exist! I kind of don't think I can ever upload it because I would just watch and laugh ALL THE TIME. :DDD)

Date: 2009-05-15 03:36 pm (UTC)I feel the exact same way, GAH, the worst thing about seeing a new movie that is incredibly mind-blowing is the knowledge that we'll have to wait at least two years for the next installment. GARBLEWARBLEGLUGGLUG.
I would love to see Javi as Khan, but I do agree that I'd like the next one to just be about new stuff and exploration. Also, since J.J. went the AU route it would be sort of contradictory to rehash old villains/storylines, eh?
I LOVE IT SO I CAN'T STOP USING IT. You've seen the accompanying macro, yes? If not, CONSIDER YOURSELF ENLIGHTENED:

Date: 2009-05-17 02:23 am (UTC)GQZQ! Winona Ryder's face! RESPECT. I have to find occasions to post this all the time now. :DMy secret, secret (okay, not that secret since I'm talking about) wish is that the New!Crew could be start a TV show that I could watch every week! I just prefer TV to movies because I can get a fix every week (like the junkie I am) and then universe and characters can be fleshed out even more. JJ Abrams likes TV! But anyway, other than that crack dream, I really just need them to get the sequel in theaters ASAP. Despite the fact it hasn't even been a week since I've seen the film. XD
Also, since J.J. went the AU route it would be sort of contradictory to rehash old villains/storylines, eh?
Yeah, if anyone could convince me to like Khan, it would be Javier Bardem! I definitely think they should keep the referencing to small events and come up with some totally fresh for the main plot. Personally, I'd love to see some harder sci-fi based on modern science but that might alienate too many mainstream viewers! I mean, I still want explosions too! Who knows where they want to take the franchise. WE SHALL SEE! ROCK IT, MR. JJ. :)
